It is extremely likely that every teacher will encounter learners with SEND at some point in the career and yet for many in the profession supporting those with additional requirements can be challenging.
This reflection framework - developed as part of a suite of SEND Reviews and resources - aims to support teachers to evaluate the extent ot which they can meet the reuirements of leaners with SEND. It can be used as a valuable tool for both individual and whole school self-assessment and improvment, and to support a process of school-to-school review and support.
While created as part of the SEND REview Programme, run by Whole School SEND, it is important ot note that this Framework - like others - has a value beyond SEND learners.
Understanding how you evaluate yourself and develop your professional attitudes and practices can lead to much broader improvements in performance.
The Framework can be adapted to a local context, and a white label version is available for those wishing to adjust it for specific settings.
We are very grateful to those who have contributed to this Framework, particularly the parents, carers and young people who have had a profound effect on its development.
